Angel's Envy Bottled-in-Bond is a cask strength straight bourbon from the Louisville distillery, bottled at 50% (100 proof). It is the brand's first unfinished straight bourbon and its first release at cask strength under Bottled-in-Bond rules.
Master Distiller Owen Martin blended 27 lower-proof barrels with two higher-proof barrels from the Spring 2018 season. The barrels went in at a low entry proof of 103 and were aged in the coolest, most humid parts of the warehouse, so no water was added to reach 100 proof.
The nose is light and sweet, with caramelised sugar, vanilla wafer, banana pudding and peach pie. The palate shows baked apple, honey latte and toasted oak, and the finish is soft, ending on vanilla, black pepper and cinnamon apple pie.
