Angel's Envy Cask Strength Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey bottled at 57.2% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is the brand's first cask strength rye, and it steps away from the rum barrel finishing the brand is known for.
Two ryes are finished separately, one in French Sauternes wine casks and the other in toasted oak barrels, then married and bottled without being reduced in strength. The base is a rye mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley.
The nose brings crème brûlée, orange zest and apple. On the palate come creamy pear and cherry, chocolate, toasted almond and building rye spice. The finish is long, with cream soda, black tea and floral sweetness.
