Antinori Tignanello 2023 Toscana IGT (75cl, 14.5%)

Tignanello 2023 is a Super Tuscan red from Marchesi Antinori, classified Toscana IGT and bottled at 14.5% in a 75cl bottle. It is a blend of 80% Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The wine comes solely from the Tignanello vineyard, 77 hectares on limestone-rich soils between the Greve and Pesa valleys. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation and 12 months in barriques, then a year in bottle before release. This vintage has a little more Cabernet Franc than earlier ones. The nose offers ripe cherry, pomegranate, blood orange, hibiscus, violet and cocoa. The palate is juicy and precise, with silky tannins and bright red fruit. The finish is long and savoury, with roasted hazelnut and graphite.
