Archie Rose – Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Archie Rose Single Malt Whisky is the signature expression from the Sydney distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made with locally grown malted barley and matured in the coastal climate of New South Wales. The spirit is distilled in copper pot stills from six different malted barleys, each roasted and smoked individually. Maturation takes place in a selection of casks that includes ex-bourbon, sherry and apera, an Australian fortified wine. The tasting notes describe toasted malt, dark chocolate and burnt orange on the nose, with a little smoke. Honeyed malt, roasted nuts and stone fruit lead the palate, and the finish carries cocoa, oak spice and dried apricot.
