Ardbeg 10 Year Old is a single malt from Ardbeg Distillery on Islay, matured for ten years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration. It is peated to approximately 55 PPM.
The distillery was founded in 1815 near Port Ellen on Islay's Kildalton coast. Here heavy peat smoke and coastal brine sit alongside vanilla from the bourbon casks.
The nose combines intense peat, smoky tar, dark chocolate, espresso and brine. The palate brings smoke, dried fruit, toffee and dark citrus, and the finish is very long, with peat and bittersweet cocoa.
