Ardbeg – The Dolce (75cl)

Ardbeg The Dolce is an Islay single malt matured in Marsala casks, the sweet 'dolce' style of Sicilian fortified wine. It sets that sweetness against the classic, intense smoke of Ardbeg from bourbon barrels, and takes its inspiration from the slow pace of life in Sicily and the glamour of 1960s cinema. The nose is salty and sweet, with apricot, marmalade and smoky applewood, plus a savoury edge of olives and pine. On the palate come dark chocolate, baked dates and roasted nuts, leading into a long, lingering finish.
