This is an older bottling of Ardbeg 17 Years Old, an Islay single malt at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It has since been discontinued. It was the first age-stated Ardbeg released after Glenmorangie acquired the distillery in 1997.
The nose is gentle peat with malt and vanillin. The palate brings the peat forward, with a chewy texture and hints of cocoa. The finish is long, with a touch of liquorice and dry toast.
