Ardbeg – 19 Year Old Batch 4 Traigh Bhan (70cl, 46.2%)

Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 4 is a 19 year old Islay single malt, distilled in 2003 and bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle. As with earlier bottlings in the series, it takes its name from the Traigh Bhan beach on Islay. The whisky matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, with a slightly higher share of Oloroso, and it was bottled at full moon. The nose is herbal, with pine and fennel, lime sorbet and medicinal sweets, followed by eucalyptus and saddle soap. A little water brings out hazelnut, sweet vanilla and blackcurrant, then mint chocolate.
