Ardbeg 19 Year Old Traigh Bhan – Batch 7 (50.3%)

This is a 19-year-old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, the seventh and final batch of Traigh Bhan, named after the beach on Islay known as the singing sand. It was distilled on 19 January 2006 and bottled in 2025 at a cask strength of 50.3% ABV, without chill-filtering or added colour. It matured in American oak and a high proportion of first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The nose has dense peat smoke, coal dust and tar, with peppermint, eucalyptus and sweet lemon. On the palate, lime and bergamot come first, then medicinal smoke with ginger and cumin, and dry cocoa and espresso from the sherry.
