A 29 year old Ardbeg from Islay, distilled on 8th March 1967 and matured in a single sherry cask, number 923, until it was bottled in June 1996. Kingsbury bottled it at 52% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The tasting notes describe a honeyed nose with chestnut, herbs, roasted nuts, milk chocolate and vanilla, with the peat well integrated and some smoked ham and wax polish behind it. On the palate come nuts, fruit, chocolate, saffron, ginger and quince jelly, with peat sitting behind the sherry. The finish is long, toasted, peaty and nutty.
