Sherry cask finish
A single cask Ardbeg from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range, distilled in March 1972 and bottled in August 2001 at 50% ABV. The outturn was 432 bottles. After 29 years of maturation, the whisky was finished for a minimum of six months in a sherry cask before bottling. The nose pairs sweetish sherry with the familiar Ardbeg character, bold and rich. On the palate peat and sherry work closely together, with iodine, tar and a hint of burnt tyre. The finish is long and medicinal, with camphor and bandages.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
