Ardbeg – 1974 18 Year Old Wilson & Morgan Barrel Selection Cask Strength (70cl, 52.3%)

An 18-year-old Ardbeg from Islay, distilled in September 1974 and bottled in July 1993 at a cask strength of 52.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is a Barrel Selection from the independent bottler Wilson & Morgan. Wilson & Morgan is an Italian company with roots in Treviso, where the Rossi family began importing whisky from Scotland in the 1960s. The nose keeps developing, with peated quince. The palate is immensely peaty, with lemon-flavoured marzipan and white pepper. The finish is long, on lemons and grapefruit.
