An independent Ardbeg single malt, distilled in 1974 and bottled in 1996 at 21 years old for the Italian bottlers Sestante. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is waxy and resinous with whiffs of smoke, argan and olive oil, toasted bread and marzipan, growing smokier with time like a campfire without being exactly peaty. The palate shows wax, herbal tea, marzipan and a slightly lemony note. The finish is long, turning bitter and drying with lemon seeds.
