A 1974 vintage Ardbeg from Islay, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 1997 in its Connoisseurs Choice range at 40% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Many regard 1974 as the last vintage of the old, peaty Ardbeg. After that year a larger share of the barley came from outside the distillery's own maltings, and the on-site maltings closed in 1977.
