A single cask Ardbeg distilled in March 1975 and matured for 27 years in a sherry cask. Douglas Laing bottled it in May 2002 in the Old Malt Cask series, at 50% in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 342 bottles. 1975 was the first year Ardbeg used large amounts of barley malted away from its own maltings. The nose combines sherry with coffee, plum spirit, walnut, camphor, eucalyptus, liquorice and tar. The palate is rich, with pine resin, orange marmalade, peat and spices, and the finish is very long, ending on peppered plum jam and chocolate.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
