An official Ardbeg single malt from Islay, distilled on Boxing Day, 26 December 1975, and bottled on 14 April 2005 after 29 years in a single Fino cask, number 4719. It is bottled at a cask strength of 44.7% in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 188 bottles.
The nose combines peat smoke and tea with meaty notes of oxtail and smoked ham, then herbal and hay tones, a maritime and medicinal edge and very little fruit. The palate is dry, like peppered tea, with some tropical fruit, cocoa, tannins and oak. The finish is long, austere and very dry.
