This is a single cask Ardbeg distilled in 1975 and bottled on 3 May 2006 for the Feis Ile festival, after 30 years in a single Fino sherry cask. It is an official distillery bottling, numbered from a run of 165 bottles.
The nose is clean and farmy, with plenty of peat and smoke, then turns maritime with seashells, oysters, green pepper and lime. The palate starts lemony and smoky, moving to fresh almonds, marzipan and a little paraffin. The finish is not long, carrying nutmeg and pepper.
