Ardbeg – 1977 (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg 1977 is an Islay single malt from the Ardbeg distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. Ardbeg is one of the oldest distilleries on the island, with a reputation for some of Islay's most heavily peated whiskies. Its two stills produce about a million litres of spirit a year, all sold as single malt. Maturation is mainly in Bourbon casks, with a small share in Sherry casks. Ardbeg is known for a smoky, spicy and sweet character, and is less marine than many Islay whiskies.
