A single cask Ardbeg from Islay, distilled in 1991 and matured for over 30 years in a bourbon hogshead. La Maison du Whisky bottled it in 2023 at a cask strength of 47.7% for Artist #13, in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. La Maison du Whisky started the Artist series in 2011, pairing single casks with labels designed by artists. Artist #13 belongs to the New Vibrations collection of 2024, and the Taiwanese artist Wang Yung Chiu created the look of the bottlings over 30 years old. The nose is autumnal peat with dried seaweed and roasted walnut, later ash, orange and mango. On the palate come stewed strawberry, candied ginger and gentian root, then strong smoke and camphor. The finish is long, with orange peel, clove and salted butter caramel.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
