First-fill Oloroso sherry butt
A single cask Ardbeg from Signatory Vintage's Rare Reserve range, in its Symington's Choice series. The whisky was distilled on 25 April 1991 and matured for 33 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask 02/453/1. Signatory Vintage bottled it on 7 October 2024 at a natural cask strength of 52.6%, filling 398 bottles in 70cl. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose combines strong smoke and flint with tobacco, leather, dark chocolate and espresso; water brings out meaty notes and black truffle. The palate has smoky caramel cream, raisins, coffee, dark chocolate and salty sherry with maritime peat. The finish is long and dry, with coffee, chocolate, citrus, herbs, tobacco and leather.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
