This is a 26-year-old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled independently for the Mackillop's Choice range from a single cask.
It was distilled in October 1991 and filled into a bourbon cask, where it matured until March 2018. Just 70 bottles were produced, at 40.4%.
The nose is delicately smoky, with floral hints and lemon sherbet sweetness. On the palate come citrus and sweetness, light smoke and traces of salt and seaweed. The finish is round and well balanced, with a little smoke.
