Ardbeg – 25 Year Old 2022 Release (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg 25 Year Old is the oldest whisky to join the distillery's core range. This 2022 release is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, is non-chill filtered and has a bright amber colour. It comes from casks filled during some of the distillery's darkest days. The nose combines smoked cream, peppermint and toffee with fennel and pine resin, distant earthy bonfires, banana, tropical fruit and candle wax. The palate is hot and peppery, followed by sherbet lemon sweetness, candied apple, pear and orange, with carbolic soap, tar, toffee, aniseed and chilli. The finish is long and mellow, with cream, fudge and delicate antiseptic notes.
