This is Ardbeg Alligator, a peated Islay single malt first presented in 2011 at the Islay festival. It is bottled at 51.2% in a 75cl bottle, the size made for the American market.
The name comes from the new oak casks it matured in. They were charred so heavily that the inside of the staves looked like alligator skin.
The notes mention barbecue, cumin, ginger and cocoa.
