Ardbeg – An Oa

Ardbeg An Oa is an Islay single malt that reflects the rugged setting beneath the Mull of Oa. It is married in the Gathering Vat from Pedro Ximenez, virgin charred oak and ex-bourbon casks, giving a rounded, mellow character with peat, dark chocolate, aniseed and butterscotch. The nose pairs peat with lemon and lime, waxy dark chocolate, menthol and black pepper. On the palate come crackling peat, cinnamon toffee, brine and ripe banana. The finish is long and smoky, with tarry espresso, aniseed and toasted almonds.
