Ardbeg Anthology 14 Year Old – The Unicorn's Tale (46%)

A 14 year old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, and the second release in the Anthology series. It tells the story of a unicorn sighting at the distillery. It is bottled at 46% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks and Madeira wine casks. The bourbon wood gives vanilla, wood and a gentle sweetness, while the Madeira adds fruit and depth to Ardbeg's smoky, maritime character. On the nose it is described as bonfire smoke, dried mint and a pinch of pepper. The palate brings bonfire smoke, sharp lime and pale barley, with dry cedar wood.
