Ardbeg – Anthology Harpy's Tale 13 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg Anthology Harpy's Tale is the first release in Ardbeg's Anthology Collection, a series that honours the legendary stories of Islay. This one takes its inspiration from the harpy, a winged creature said to live on the island. The whisky spent 13 years maturing in Sauternes wine casks and bourbon casks, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Ardbeg's smoke meets coconut and stone fruit sweetness from the wood, with distinctive herbal touches. The nose is oily, with olive oil, briar root, coriander, sage and smoked lemon zest. The palate is soft and oily, sweet and smoky, and the finish is long.
