Ardbeg Corryvreckan is an Islay single malt named after the whirlpool off the island's coast. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 57.1% ABV without chill filtration.
It was recognised as World's Best Single Malt in 2010, and has a rich amber colour.
The nose brings tar, creosote and linseed oil alongside dark chocolate, blackcurrants and cherries. The palate is peppery and chewy, with peppered steak, black espresso coffee and dark fruits. The finish is long, with coffee, chocolate-coated cherries and hot pepper sauce.
