Ardbeg Corryvreckan is an Islay single malt named after the whirlpool to the north of the island. It is bottled at 57.1% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is deep and powerful, with tar, creosote and linseed oil alongside dark chocolate, blackcurrants, muscovado sugar and cherries. With water, peppered steak, oysters and seaweed come through. The palate is peppery and chewy, with black coffee, dark fruits, bitter almonds, star anise and hickory, and a touch of violets. The finish is long and powerful, with tarry coffee, chocolate-coated cherries and hot pepper sauce.
