Ardbeg – Corryvreckan (70cl, 57.1%)

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a peated single malt from the Ardbeg distillery on Islay, bottled at 57.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The character is smoky and robust, with strong peat at the front and a smoke often likened to a beach bonfire. Dark chocolate, espresso and sweet spices such as cinnamon and cloves sit underneath. On the nose come sea salt and seaweed, smoke, citrus and dark fruit such as plums and black cherries. The finish is long and powerful, with lingering smoke, orange, dark berries, a little dark chocolate, light oak and a pleasant warmth.
