Ardbeg Dark Cove is a limited edition Islay single malt released in 2016. It was inspired by the history of whisky smuggling on Islay and matured in bourbon casks and dark sherry casks.
The nose brings dark chocolate, rich treacle toffee and bonfires, with hints of pepper. On the palate there is significant charcoal and peaty flavour, along with raisins, dates and ginger.
The finish is decent and spicy, with hints of smoked ham.
