Ardbeg – First Witch Macbeth Series Act 19 Year Old 2004/2023 (51.7%)

Ardbeg First Witch is a 19 year old Islay single malt, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2023 at 51.7%. It matured for the full 19 years in Pedro Ximenez sherry butts. It comes from the Macbeth Collection by Elixir Distillers, which began with Lexi Livingstone Burgess of Livingstone and Burgess Studio seeing the Scottish whisky trade as a Shakespearean drama of alliances and ambition. The collection gives 42 characters from the play to whiskies, and each limited bottling is illustrated by Sir Quentin Blake. First Witch is one of the heavily peated malts chosen for The Witches and The Murderers series.
