Ardbeg Galileo is a single malt made from Ardbeg distilled in 1999, vatted from a mix of cask types. Most of it matured in first-fill and refill bourbon casks, together with Marsala wine casks from Sicily. It is bottled at 49%.
The flavour is classic Ardbeg, with plenty of dry, dusty smoke and peat. The sweetness from the Marsala casks differs from that of sherry casks, bringing a fresher, golden, fruity sweetness with a slightly winey touch.
