Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is an experimental Islay single malt, released for Ardbeg Day 2023 in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was developed by Dr Bill Lumsden.
The whisky was distilled with the copper purifier removed from the still, which lets the so-called heavy vapours through. The change upsets the classic balance between smoke and fruity notes that Ardbeg is known for.
