Ardbeg – Heavy Vapours (70cl, 46%)

Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is a limited edition Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. For the first time in the distillery's history, the spirit was made without the purifier on the spirit still. The heavier vapours pass into the distillate, giving an oily, earthy and spicy character in place of the usual elegant fruitiness. The nose opens with strong peat smoke, tar and sea salt, with dark chocolate cream behind them. With time in the glass, fresh citrus, grilled pineapple, smoked artichoke and herbs appear.
