Ardbeg – Heavy Vapours Limited Edition (46%)

Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is an experimental, limited release from the Islay distillery, bottled at 46% and released for Ardbeg Day on 3 June 2023, the last Saturday of the Fèis Ìle festival. It is the first Ardbeg distilled without a purifier, the filter above the still that helps balance peat and floral fruitiness. Without it there is less reflux during distillation, so heavier vapours pass into the spirit, which gives the whisky its name. The balance moves further towards smoky notes and away from floral fruitiness.
