Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is an Islay single malt bottled at 46%. It is an experimental Ardbeg, made by leaving the purifier out of the distillation.
The nose is smoky and intense, with burnt tar, coal and strong smoke, along with dark chocolate and dried fruit. On the palate there are spices, pepper and a touch of citrus, with a light sweetness of vanilla and caramel.
The finish is long and lasting, smoky and warm, with a spicy aftertaste.
