Ardbeg – Kelpie Committee Release (70cl, 51.7%)

Ardbeg Kelpie is an Islay single malt released for the Committee in celebration of Feis Ile 2017. It takes its name from the Kelpie, a creature of Scottish legend often described as a water spirit in the form of a horse or bull. The whisky was matured in virgin oak from the Adyghe Republic in Russia, on the Black Sea, together with traditional ex-bourbon casks. It was the first time Ardbeg had used Black Sea oak, which brings notes of seaweed and smoked fish. It is bottled at 51.7%, the natural strength of the whisky as it came from the cask, in a 70cl bottle.
