Ardbeg – Smokiverse (70cl, 48.3%)

Smokiverse is an Islay single malt from Ardbeg, made for Ardbeg Day 2025 and bottled at 48.3%. It is a limited edition. It is the first Ardbeg made from a high-gravity wort, which uses a larger weight of malted barley. This lengthened the fermentation and brought out more pronounced esters, giving a new aromatic profile of deep, earthy, smoky notes. The nose is fruity with esters, malted barley and toast, with a peaty touch and tropical accents. The palate is rich and creamy, with aniseed, clove, muscovado sugar and soft oak. The finish is long and earthy, recalling wood-fire embers and charcoal.
