Ardbeg Spectacular is a limited edition Islay single malt, released for Ardbeg Day on 1 June 2024 during the Fèis Ìle festival. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in a mix of port wine barriques and ex-bourbon barrels, bringing together smoky peat and rich, fruity sweetness.
The nose is aromatic and perfumed, with lavender, leather, woodsmoke, mint, salted caramel and dark chocolate. On the palate it is oily, with pear crumble and toffee set against sea salt, tar and bonfire smoke. The finish is long, moving from ash and white pepper to a drying, tannic, minty close.
