Ardbeg – Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 3 (70cl, 46.2%)

This is the third batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan, a 19 year old Islay single malt bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle. The series takes its inspiration from Traigh Bhan beach on Islay. The whisky matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks. This batch was bottled during the global lockdown, which makes it one of very few bottlings in the distillery's history made in such circumstances. The nose combines woodsmoke, sea spray and pine resin with aniseed toffee, sweet lilies and citrus zest. The palate is sappy and smoky, with tarry rope, treacle toffee, walnuts and spices. The finish is long, with bitter almonds and clove.
