Ardbeg – Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 5 (46.2%)

This is the fifth batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan, a 19 year old Islay single malt bottled at 46.2% ABV. It takes its name from the Traigh Bhan beaches, known locally as the singing beach, and is made each year in small batches. The whisky matured mainly in American oak casks, with a slightly higher share of Oloroso sherry casks in this batch. The nose shows ripe mango, maple-smoked bacon and frankincense. On the palate come herbal spice and fruit, and the finish carries toffee, butter and heather, set against Ardbeg's peaty smoke and sweetness.
