Traigh Bhan is a small batch Islay single malt from Ardbeg, and this is its fifth batch, aged for 19 years and sold in a 70cl bottle. The name, pronounced tri-van, comes from a beach known locally as the Singing Sands.
The nose is perfumed, with ripe tropical fruit, herbal incense and smoke. The palate is creamy, moving into herbal and spicy flavours: smoked maple-cured bacon, charcoal, white pepper and a touch of cloves.
