Ardbeg Traigh Bhan is a 19 year old Islay single malt, here in its sixth batch and bottled at 46.2% ABV. It is a limited edition.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose opens with olive oil, tar, soot and ginger chocolate, with freshly cut grass alongside. Water brings out peppermint, eucalyptus and tarred rope. The palate is oily, with minty sweetness, tar oil, smoked pineapple, dark chocolate and bonfire smoke. The finish is long, with coffee and liquorice.
