Ardbeg – Uigeadail (75cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is an Islay single malt named after the loch in the hills above the distillery, which supplies Ardbeg's peaty water. It is a vatting of different styles of Ardbeg, joining the distillery's deep smoky character with the sweet, raisined tones of old ex-sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 54.2% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The palate is full and mouth-coating, opening sweet like Christmas cake before winter spices and smoke arrive, with a dark sweetness and honey-glazed smoked notes in the middle. The finish is long, both sweet and dry, with honey, barley sugar, dates, raisins and sherry, then leather and linseed oil.
