Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is an Islay single malt blended from whiskies matured in bourbon casks and ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 54.2%, without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from the loch that supplies the distillery with water. The sherry casks add dried fruit and cocoa depth to Ardbeg's peat. The nose has wood fire smoke, raisins, dates, leather and a note of honey. The palate is dense and powerful, with peat, fruit cake, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and pepper. The finish is very long, smoky and spicy, with cocoa, liquorice and dried fruit.
