Wee Beastie is a young Islay single malt from Ardbeg, aged for five years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 47.4% ABV.
The nose is fresh and herbal, with pear, cracked black pepper, pine needles, vanilla and honey-glazed ham, alongside aniseed, green apple, leather and coffee. The palate brings dark chocolate, hot tar, smoked bacon, aniseed and eucalyptus, and these notes linger into the finish.
