Ardmore – 2010 14 Year Old Sherry Butt Old Malt Cask (70cl, 50%)

A 14 year old Ardmore from the Highlands, distilled in 2010 and matured in an Oloroso sherry butt. Hunter Laing bottled it as a single cask in its Old Malt Cask series, at 50% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The outturn was 339 bottles. Ardmore is a Highland distillery known for lightly to medium peated malts, and here floral notes sit alongside soft peat smoke. The nose is floral and peaty, with toffee and green apples. The palate brings lemon zest, bonfire smoke and salted caramel, and the finish is long, with a hint of dry oak.
