This is a lightly peated Highland single malt from Ardmore, distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2021 after 36 years in a refill sherry hogshead. Gordon & MacPhail selected it for its Private Collection as the Antipodes bottling.
It is single cask number 958, bottled at a cask strength of 49.6% in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtering and with natural colour. Only 164 bottles were filled.
The nose combines raisins, Christmas spices, blueberry, toasted hazelnut and salted lemon zest over gentle smoke. The palate is silky, with stewed apple and plum, mandarin peel and honey, and the finish is very long.
