This is a 47-year-old Highland single malt from Ardmore, bottled by Milroys. It was distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2026 from a single bourbon hogshead, number 8, which gave 186 bottles at 47.8%. It is bottled without added colour and without chill-filtration.
The whisky has a deep golden ochre colour and an herbal, smoky and spicy profile. Herbal notes lead the nose, with gentle smoke. On the palate, wood and spice give a complex taste, softened by a restrained sweetness. The finish is long, with smoke and spice working together.
