This is Ardnamurchan AD/09.23, a Highland single malt released at the end of 2023 at its full cask strength of 58.1%, in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled without colouring or chill filtration.
The batch draws on just over 50 casks. Most hold unpeated spirit from the 2016 and 2017 vintages, aged in American Standard Barrels, with a handful of peated casks and a small number of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
Coastal peat smoke, vanilla and bright citrus zest lead the nose. The palate has maritime peat, ripe orchard fruit, warm oak and gentle black pepper, and the finish lingers with peat and a subtle seaweed salinity.
